A Dream Come True

Jeff Rohrer of Mohrsville, PA, has been providing Alderfer customers with cage-free white and brown eggs that you can trust for over 3 years. Working with chickens has been “a dream come true” and the Rohrer’s enjoying “working together as a family.”

Jeff grew up on a farm and he loved it! Not counting the years when he was growing up, he has been farming for close to 23 years. When they moved to their farm in 2008, they decided to start raising pigs. After 6 years, the Rohrer’s decided to add on egg production to their farming and that is when they began working with Alderfer Poultry Farm. Jeff and his wife Tracy wanted to work with the Alderfer family because they admired their high integrity and wanted to work with someone who had experience and desired to support small family farms.

One thing that Jeff and Tracy love about working on a chicken farm is the ability to involve their whole family. Jeff says, “there’s just something pretty special about being able to stay home – walk to work and work with your family.” They have 4 children and Jeff and Tracy enjoy teaching them the values of working hard and developing a good work ethic.

In addition to chickens, the Rohrer’s raise pigs and they also have 120 acres of hay growing.
